Sweet Little Brother and Sister — Setagaya-ku, Tokyo

Categories:  >

I came for my very first visit with a pair of rescue cat siblings.

They seem a little nervous.

For now, they're watching me from inside their cage.

With those eyes fixed on me, I got a little nervous myself!

Little by little, they began to relax.

Next time, let's play together, okay?

The ones I came to care for this time are

Alicia-chan, a Munchkin,

and Aika-chan, a Scottish Fold!

When I arrived, the two of them gave me a thorough welcome, sniffing and nuzzling all over☺️

All through my care,

Alicia-chan was always right there by my side.

And Aika-chan would nuzzle up against me at every chance.

Both of them are adorable cats, simply brimming with grace!

And they both adore their Churu!

I'm looking forward to the day we meet again!

Our Beloved Mero-chan — Tsuzuki-ku, Yokohama

Categories:  >

Gorgeous,

with big, bright eyes,

a beautiful cat —

Mero-chan, a Ragamuffin.

Poised

and seemingly unshaken by anything,

that's Mero-chan.

But actually,

Mero-chan's heart

is ever so sensitive.

So during my care,

most of the time

she's tucked away in what we call

her "cave," right here.

Even when she gives in to the temptation of her beloved Churu

and slips out

of her cave without thinking,

the moment she's done eating,

off she hurries,

scurrying back to her cave.

Even when I invite her to play,

she's not so easily won over,

that's Mero-chan.

Now and then, though,

she does have her little slip-ups.

Oh yes, she does!

From inside her cave,

an arm poking out here,

half a body there.

And even so,

even Mero-chan

reveals the full glory of her splendid form

for me to see

every now and then.

And here it is.

Such a wonderful coat,

a magnificent tail!

And swish, swish,

she'll sometimes wave it about

for me, too!

But above all,

my personal favorite

is the one on the inside of her arm —

this, right here❣️

There's one in the very same spot on each side,

and when she throws a punch and such,

they peek in and out,

a little glimpse here and there —

I simply can't get enough!

On rare occasions,

I even get to see Mero-chan

with such a gentle expression as this.

Such a delicate little soul, our Mero-chan💞

The next time we meet,

I'd love to

start with a "Hiss — sss — puuunch!"

perhaps😆

And I look forward to that, too.

Do go easy on me, please🙇

Three of Them, All Doing Their Best! — Nishinomiya, Hyogo

Categories:  > >

Six days of home-alone care in a brand-new house they'd only just moved into.

With a little anxiety in the air, the three of them did their best together😊

"A stranger's here!" — and the two cats dashed off to hide in the cat tower.

Taro-kun and Ryo-kun, two brother cats as alike as two peas in a pod🐱🐱

So as not to mix up their names, I observed them closely, trying to spot each little difference. Staaare~👀✨

This is Taro-kun.

While I cleaned, he went zip! and dashed off to hide in a cardboard box.

And this is Ryo-kun.

He retreated to the very back of the cat tower and wouldn't come out at all.

And the third sibling🐰

is Moka-kun the bunny.

So friendly right from our very first hello!

Taro-kun, who'd hidden in the cardboard box, soon let his guard down and relaxed.

He'd wander around me as I cleaned🐾

now and then chatting away with a little "meow~" as he circled about🐾🐾

Before long, he was perfectly fine with being petted, too💕

As for Ryo-kun, who wouldn't leave the cat tower, I lured him out with Churu — success!

Perhaps a bit more at ease, he came out of the tower and wandered about.

Not realizing this, and sure that the one wandering around was Taro-kun, I gave him a good, thorough petting🐱👋

But looking more closely…

why, it was Ryo-kun!

It was Ryo-kun who'd been letting me pet him all along😍

Friendly little Moka-kun the bunny loves his treats.

The moment I opened his cage door, he'd lean in eagerly — "Hurry, gimme!" (ha!).

When I cleaned beside him as he relaxed, now and then he'd scold me with a thump! of his front paw.

So sorry to disturb your rest!😌

By the sixth and final day, everyone had settled into full relaxation mode🍀

It made me so happy to see them warm up to me more and more each day.

Soothed by these three adorable ones, I was a sitter brimming with happiness.

By the way… could you tell the difference between Taro-kun and Ryo-kun?😄

Hana-chan's Summer Retreat — Tarumi-ku, Kobe

Categories:  >

The ones I came to care for over two days this time

— making their fourth appearance on the blog! —

are Hana-chan and Kiji-chan,

a home of two lovely cats😺

Sadly, once again, the shy

Kiji-chan was nowhere to be met😿 —

not even a trace of her presence😱

On the first day, Hana-chan came all the way to the entrance

to welcome me😊

When I

prepared her wet food, she came right over to eat it

straight away😸

As I went about

cleaning the litter box and such, I saw Hana-chan

quietly slip into the closet.

That's what I spotted🍀

When I reported to the client

that she'd gone into the closet,

they told me, "The closet is her summer retreat🏝️"

And indeed, the area around the closet

does feel a little cooler❄️

On the second day, there was no welcome from Hana-chan —

I came into the room,

and no one was there.

With a hunch, I gently peeked into

her "summer retreat"…

and there was Hana-chan, dozing away

in her summer retreat😸

In the end, right up until I left, from her retreat

she never once emerged…🙀

and so I quietly took my leave of the two cats' home.

And that was my visit.

No Two Scents Are Ever the Same — Minato-ku, Tokyo

Categories:  >

Jiro-kun, freezing up nervously in the elevator.

(That his little jaw trembled every time we met is our little secret…)

But once he's outside, he's just fine.

"Let me show you my walking route."

Being a rescue dog, Jiro-kun is frightened when strangers pass by.

Even so, he walked along without minding me, there at the other end of the leash🐾

He always makes his U-turn at the very same spot.

On the way back, his pace would slow a little, a bit downhearted — "I don't want to go home yet." But the one who made that U-turn was Jiro-kun himself😂

Even on the same route each day, there are different scents and different sights, aren't there?🌱 We had such a lovely walk together!
