A Summer Afternoon — Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo

Categories:  >

Surely today, too, he'd be hiding away somewhere out of sight.
It was a summer afternoon I met with such thoughts in mind.

When I happened to lift my gaze, Vyon-kun was atop the piano.
As though he were a piece of furniture that had always rested there,
he lay there, terribly still, in perfect balance.

And yet, it wasn't that he was unaware of my presence.
Without moving, he shifted his eyes just the slightest bit.

In a small voice, I tried calling his name.
Still, he didn't move.
From a little way off, I simply gazed at him.
And then, one of his eyes slowly began to close.

"You're not hiding today."
I murmured softly, deep in my heart.
That he was simply there
made me so very happy.
After a little while, his other eye, too, closed quietly.

Had he fallen asleep, I wondered?
Or else——
had he decided there was no longer any need to be wary of me?
Nothing special had happened.
On any other day, leaving only a trace of his presence,
he would vanish from sight — yet
that day, he was atop the piano.
He opened his eyes,
looked my way just the slightest bit,
and then slowly closed them again.
That was all.

And yet,
a summer afternoon
suits such a small moment so well.
Along with Vyon-kun's quiet presence,
that afternoon, too,
passed slowly by, as though nothing had happened at all.

My Dependable Big Brother — Setagaya-ku, Tokyo

Categories:  >

I'm Kuru-chan.
If I do say so myself, I'm bright and outgoing through and through. Once I start running, I'll race around endlessly.
And once I start playing with a toy, there's no stopping me.
Since I'm still a kitten, I forget all about getting tired and end up completely worn out.

The one who helps me at times like that is my big brother, Tora-o.
He usually keeps himself tucked away in his favorite spot, but having Tora-o around — with his long years of cat life — makes me feel so safe.

The other day, when I got a little too excited, he slipped smoothly out from his hiding spot in the corner of the room and warned me:
"Now now, take it easy, or you'll trip and hurt yourself. Hiss!"
Thanks to him, I got to play happily without a single scratch.

I call this wonderful brother of mine my dependable big bro.
But don't tell him that, okay?

Keep watching over me from now on, too.
My beloved big brother, Tora-o.❤️

Three Best Friends — Yodogawa-ku, Osaka

Categories:  >

Let me introduce three best friends🙋

Kohaku-kun, who came cuddling up to me from the very first day of care.🐱
While I cleaned the litter box, he gave my head an adorable little cat-punch, and while I prepared meals, he even used my leg as a scratching post🤣

Tidy little Yuyu-chan.🐱
She'd drink right away when I refreshed her water, and use the litter box the moment I'd finished cleaning it.✨

The youngest, Myu-chan.🐱
She'd greet me every time alongside Yuyu-chan, and showed a playful side too, hiding in the litter box while I cleaned it.😉

All together, relaxing on the cat tower.😻

Let's all play together with the laser pointer again soon🥰

A Joyful Reunion — Nerima-ku, Tokyo

Categories:  >

This time, the one I had the pleasure of caring for
was Peko-chan, a brown tabby cat.
It had been about three years since I last cared for her.😊

Last time, she held down the fort together with her buddy, Chihuahua Mame-kun, but this time it was Peko-chan on her own.

At our meeting, she played it cool and acted all aloof, but
as my visits went on, she warmed back up to me once again.

I'm looking forward to another happy reunion.☺️
Thank you so much.✨✨✨

Can You Guess Her Name? — Yodogawa-ku, Osaka

Categories:  >

The one I had the pleasure of caring for this time…
is a one-year-old Ragamuffin girl.
Now then, everyone — can you guess this little one's name?

At our meeting, gazing at her, I somehow drifted into the fondest, most nostalgic feeling.💭

A hint…

You've surely got it by now!!
Her name is

Okame-chan!🥰🥰

What a wonderful sense for naming
her owner has!!

Just looking at her, you feel as though good fortune might come pouring in!!

It was a visit where Okame-chan gave me so much happiness.
Thank you so very much.😊

I'm looking forward to the day we meet again.❣️

The Gem That Brings Happiness — Kita-ku, Tokyo

Categories:  >

From the very moment I heard their names, I'd been looking forward to the day we'd meet!
Lapis-kun and Lazuli-kun. Together, they make "lapis lazuli."😺✨
Yes — the very gemstone said to bring happiness.💎✨

Lapis-kun.

Lazuli-kun.

This time, I went to care for these two cats, each holding a touch of that lucky power!

Raised with plenty of love from their family, the two of them radiated pure charisma from the moment they greeted me.✨
"Meow! Meow!" they welcomed me with such energy. Lazuli-kun nuzzled up affectionately and made a beeline for my lap, as if to say, "Hey, this way~ let's play!"

Their meals during the stay were polished off perfectly, too!

And when it comes to toys — just look, they're absolute masters!

Even as I prepared meals and cleaned, Lapis-kun and Lazuli-kun would call out to me so sociably, "What are you doing? Hey, let's play~!"🐈🐈 ⬛✨
With their perfect good looks and hearts to match, these handsome fellows completely knocked me out.

What a happy time of care it was, over in the blink of an eye.
I'm already looking forward to the day I'll see the two of them again.
