Hokuto-kun's Easygoing Days — Konohana-ku, Osaka

Categories:  >

This time, I had the pleasure of caring for Hokuto-kun, a Jack Russell Terrier.

Hokuto-kun is a sweet senior dog, sixteen years old.🐶

Hokuto-kun loves his walks.😊

But his legs have grown a little weaker these days, so we kept the walks nice and short.🐾

He eats his meals with great gusto!

His favorite spot is up on the sofa.🧡

And he can still climb up there all by himself!✨

Relaxing on the sofa, without a care in the world~

He couldn't help letting out a great big yawn.

Thanks to Hokuto-kun, I got to spend the most wonderfully easygoing, happy hours.

Thank you, Hokuto-kun!💕

May you stay healthy and live a long, happy life!🍀

Always Right by My Side — Sumida-ku, Tokyo

Categories:  >

His name is Anmitsu-kun.

A former rescue cat, a boy of about seven years old.

Right from our first meeting, his friendliness was on full display.

"I'm joining in too!"

— I could almost hear him say.

Before I knew it, he was right beside the paperwork — as if to say he was an important member of the meeting too, ready to stamp his approval with a little paw print.

Anmitsu-kun simply adores people.

He must have been cherished so very dearly.

Whenever I pointed the camera, he'd come walking right up to me — so my photo folder is filled with close-ups of his sweet face!📸💕

He was supposed to be on the other side of the lens, yet somehow he was always right there, closest of all.

He loves to play, and he loves being brushed.

I'd be brushing him, and before I knew it, it had turned into playtime — gently nibbling my arm and telling me with his whole body, "Pay more attention to me!"

Purring away as he launched into his playful bunny kicks — innocence itself.🐾

My cheeks couldn't stop softening into a smile.

Even when he got a little excited and a touch too strong, that, too, was part of his irresistible charm.

When I'd say, "Ouch, that hurts," he'd gently lick me, as if to say, "I'm sorry" — such a tender heart.❤️

His right ear, shaped a little like a tiny cherry blossom petal, is now a special charm all his own.

Friendly, affectionate, and always up for play.

My time with Anmitsu-kun was always full of smiles.😊

Nice to Meet You, Jelly-kun! — Adachi-ku, Tokyo

Categories:  >

"How old do you think I am?"

"Fifteen years old, meow~~~!!!"

"Full of energy, the champion cuddler, and I LOVE being petted — so hurry up and pet me already~~~!!!"

"My special trick is 'shake'!"

"See? Told you!"

"Come pet me again and I'll shake for you! See you soon!"

It was about two weeks of care, and from the very first day, I was completely charmed by Jelly-kun.🐾

You did such a wonderful job holding down the fort! Be sure to get lots of praise from your mom!

The Big Little Brother Is a Cuddle Bug — Kawasaki-ku, Kawasaki

Categories:  >

A gentle breeze drifts by on this lovely evening.

The one who joined me for a walk today was…

an Akita dog —

Friendly from the very moment we met at our first meeting,

ever so warm and sociable,

this is Chachamaru-kun!☺️

He's a strong fellow, as you'd expect,

so our walk was powerful — no room for letting my guard down!

And yet, through the leash I could feel Chachamaru-kun's gentle nature.🙂

When you walk a dog, so much comes through the hand that holds the leash.✨

Every dog is different… but when I sense our hearts somehow connecting, it's a truly joyful moment for me as a sitter.

Chachamaru-kun, too, shared

so many things with me.

When we returned home, his big brother

Chibita-kun was there to welcome us!✨

Chibita-kun is twelve years old. He'd been unwell, but I'm told he's recovered well thanks to an IV drip.

He hadn't seemed well the last time I saw him, so I'd been very worried.

Seeing him back to his cheerful self put my heart at ease.😭

"I'm so glad you're feeling better, Chibita-kun,"

I said, giving him some gentle pats — when

a "wall of fluff" came barreling right in between us!

It was Chacha-kun!😆

Our cuddle bug Chachamaru-kun was feeling a touch jealous!

Oh, how adorable! (*´∀`*)

Thank you, both of you, for being so wonderfully cute!

I'm already looking forward to the day we meet again.🍀

Three Adorable Little Friends — Machida, Tokyo

Categories:  > >

First,

let me introduce two friendly, oh-so-cute fancy rats —

the Brothers!

On the left is Hachi-kun.

And right beside him,

the one with a little spot of color on the tip of his nose

is Mit-kun.

The two of them are brothers.

While I cleaned their home,

it was playtime out of the cage for the two of them♪

No matter what they did, they were simply adorable.🥰

First, please enjoy some of their cutest shots.

Those little pink ears.

Those tiny little hands.

This friendliness.

Those round, sparkling eyes.

They don't have cheek pouches, but

they'd pop a few pieces of food into their mouths,

carry them off,

and plop

them down somewhere else.

And then,

when I

would say, "Oh! There's food over here🔍

— who brought this here?"

they seemed to delight in my surprise.

(Hehe!)

They are friendly through and through.

More often than not, I'd suddenly notice them fussing playfully around my feet —

tickling away down there.

Worried I might accidentally step on them,

I had to stay very, very careful!

Just when one had climbed onto my lap,

he came pattering all the way up to my chest,

clambering up to say hello.💞

Inside their home, rows of little towel hammocks make for cozy beds.

And we mustn't forget one more friend.

Let me introduce Takao-kun.

Draped in a long coat of black and dark gray, Takao-kun

is one of the larger kinds of hamster🐹 —

a golden hamster.

Whenever I arrive to care for him,

he's fast asleep inside his tissue-box room.💤

A gentle little tickle

to wake him up, and…

he looks ever so sleepy.☺️

Takao-kun is incredibly cute, too.

While I clean Takao-kun's home, he roams the room safely inside a little dome.

Can you spot him?

That's Takao-kun, right there inside the dome.

From inside, he'd gaze out at the scenery and skillfully steer the dome wherever he pleased.

And he was surprisingly fast!💨

Roll, roll, roll —

off he'd go in the blink of an eye!👏

You know those attractions

made for humans, right?

This was exactly that, in the tiniest, tiniest size!😆

Once he was back home after cleaning,

he happily

sipped some water and enjoyed his meal.😋

Takao-kun

is, above all,

wonderfully fluffy!😃

Everyone's meals

were filled with all sorts of treats,

looking absolutely delicious

and brimming with love —

such lovely meals.

This time,

they were far more affectionate than I ever imagined,

and Hachi-kun and Mit-kun struck me right through the heart —

this smitten little sitter!

You all did such a wonderful job holding down the fort.

Thank you!

A Happy Reunion, Part Two — Chuo-ku, Kobe

Categories:  >

The one I visited this time

was Niko-chan, a three-year-old tortoiseshell cat.😺

I've been caring for her once a year

ever since she was one year old.

And once again, here we were — reunited after a whole year!🎉

Even after a year apart,

she came all the way to the entrance to welcome me!✨

One year ago and the year before,

we played with her favorite yellow cat teaser, but

this time it was a blue one,

and we played to our hearts' content!

I'm already looking forward

to seeing her again next time.😸
