A World in Balance — Machida, Tokyo
Categories: Dogs > On the Job > Cats
Perhaps it is because their home is regularly opened to guests as a vacation rental.
Nano the miniature dachshund and cats Ato and Himari are wonderfully open and sociable. Even at our first meeting, their warm welcome made me so happy.

That never changed throughout my visits. Whenever it was playtime, they were full of enthusiasm and ready to keep their sitter entertained.
Nano would fetch a thrown toy and bring it right back to my hands when I said, “Give it to me.”
No matter how many dozens of times we repeated this, his dedication and enthusiasm never faded.
Meanwhile, Ato and Himari would lie on the sofa or table, quietly watching as if to say, “That looks like fun...”
When I played with Ato using a wand toy, Nano took his turn as the gentle observer.
There seemed to be an unspoken understanding and kindness among the three. Sharing their beautifully balanced little world left me feeling wonderfully peaceful.

Nano, Ato and Himari,
I look forward to seeing you again😊
Let’s have lots more fun together next time.

Kanna, Full of Happiness — Machida, Tokyo
Categories: On the Job > Cats
Meet Kanna, a Japanese domestic cat.
He became part of his family when he was eight years old.
When I arrived to care for him, he was on his guard, as if thinking, “Could this be someone suspicious?!”
But perhaps he had been feeling lonely while his family was away😔
He came out to see me with a “Meow, meow!”
Kanna has quite a loud, strong voice☺️

His lovely plump body, beautiful black-and-white coat, and charming little moustache!
His red bell stands out so nicely against his fur. He is absolutely adorable.
Instead of calling him Kanna-kun, I kept finding myself saying the more affectionate Kanna-chan😆
When he curled up on his scratching bed and narrowed his eyes…

Well, would you look at that!
Doesn't he look just like the famous “Sleeping Cat” of Nikko?

Kanna played for a little while, but then seemed to think, “Maybe I'd better hide after all,” and slipped under the bed.

But a little later, it was as if he thought, “Actually, I'm still curious.”
He came back out from under the bed and chatted to me with his “Meow, meow!”

So cute❤️
I was overcome by the urge to give him a big cuddle.
He made my heart flutter!
“I'm so happy now✨”
Kanna shared so much happiness with me💞
Thank you😃

Sharing Peaceful Moments✨ — Toshima-ku, Tokyo
Categories: Dogs > On the Job
This time, I cared for Meru, a Shiba Inu.

And Moka, a Pomeranian–Chihuahua mix.

It had been a while since my last visit.😊
I have cared for them several times before.
Both are senior dogs, and they have become comfortable enough to show me their relaxed side.
Would you believe Meru is 18 years old?! Meru has even appeared in our members’ newsletter. Moka is 13.
When there is nothing in particular that needs doing, I get to lounge around with them, too.😅
Is that really all right? I am supposed to be working!
Still, these peaceful moments the three of us share are pure bliss for me.✨✨✨

Meru spends a lot of time sleeping, but once awake, sets off confidently around the room in a wheelchair.
Still full of energy!!

Moka loves Mum and does a wonderful job waiting for her to come home—lounging with me, asking for strokes, or relaxing on the cushion in the crate.
💕😊💕
I look forward to another lovely visit.
Thank you very much.✨✨✨

Miko Keeps Her Distance🐾 — Ota-ku, Tokyo
Categories: On the Job > Cats
Miko peeked out from a gap to watch her sitter.
“Who are you?”

Even Churu treats couldn’t win her over.
“I’m not that easily persuaded.”

She tucked herself further and further away…
“If you want to talk to me, you’ll have to go through Mom.”

She was disappearing from view~
“Do make sure you clean up, though.”

Although she hid under the bedding, Miko still chatted with me with little meows and did a great job staying home while her family was away🍊
