Little Aveni-chan, Who Cannot See — Yashio, Saitama
Categories: On the Job > Loaches > Medaka > Tropical Fish
The big fishy family💕
This time, the request was a very important mission: to hand-feed an Amazon puffer who cannot see, gently bringing bloodworms right up to her mouth with a pair of tweezers.
Quite the weighty task!
A great responsibility indeed!

And here she is — our little blind-eyed Aveni-chan🐟
Since she hadn't been given a name,
I took the liberty
(forgive me!)
of fondly calling her "little Aveni-chan❤️" throughout my care.
Carefully, silently, I gave it my all — bringing the tweezers close to her face so she could eat her bloodworms.

The owner told me I could extend the time up to thirty minutes if she wasn't eating,
but if she still couldn't manage after that, it was perfectly fine to stop there.
As luck would have it, during our trial run at the meeting, she succeeded in just a few tries — and the owner and I clasped hands and cheered, "We did it!"😆
On the day of care, I was more nervous than ever,
but little Aveni-chan gave it her best!
Chomp… ah, it slipped.
Chomp… oh, so close!
Chomp… oh no, it fell again😭
Chomp, chomp…
We did it🙌
Chomp, chomp, gulp!
Mission accomplished!
Oh, what a relief, what a relief😲💨
I felt my shoulders ease at last.
The owner had even prepared a separate tank for little Aveni-chan to make things easier for me — I was so grateful and moved!
Thank you so very much!
With my heart at ease,
next it was on to little Aveni-chan's family — the other Amazon puffers and the shrimp!

The panda corydoras.

The medaka (Japanese rice fish).

The hidojo (orange weather loach) and the striped loach.

Fourteen in all, perhaps?
Everyone going chomp, chomp, chomp.
So very endearing,
I felt the urge to watch them forever😅
But time was up in the blink of an eye,
and I left the room with a heart full of fond reluctance🥰
